Trading goods since 1942

Our experience as a wholesale exporter of custom Mexican jewelry is not recent.

Our company was built in 1942 (during the Second World War) by the name of its founders "Anton & Paez, S. de R.L.". We had a critical role in the world market. Latin-America was not able to acquire anymore the merchandise coming from Europe because of the war. Working together with their clients our company was able to satisfy their demands by finding proper alternatives and growing local providers. Our business grew and extended to the whole continent including USA, Central- and South-America.

The business grew initially attending demands of all kind of products. All of them were promptly attended with special care of the customer requirements. We had several relevant customers like the province government of Chiriquiri in Panama. For them we proudly provided plates for all motor vehicles in the region, musical instruments for the military band of Panama City, bedcovers, and cotton bedspreads. We also traded our handcrafts line and silver jewelry to Panama and other regional markets like Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Salvador and Guatemala.

As part of the company’s expanding strategy, the partners visited personally customers and providers all along the continent. That reinforced the business prestige and honesty character already created by Jose Anton and Enrique Paez.

When the Second World War finished, the name and structure of the company changed being Jose Anton the only owner. Business noticeably increased in the domestic and export market. The company was restructured and the relations with key customers and vendors reinforced. In 1962 it was decided to create an incorporated company named “Artesanias e Importaciones, S.A” (ARTIMSA). At that time Roberto Pastrana, the actual Export Manager and owner of the company, was subscribed as one of the partners.

As the result of all these changes, domestic and international sales continued growing. ARTIMSA reinforced relationships with local artisans and by transmitting the needs of our customers, ensuring the expeted quality was exceeded and growing our community. We were selling all kind of handcrafts in 18 different countries in the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania.

ARTIMSA maintains itself as an active membership in different commerce chambers. We have participated in international commerce fairs in several cities of USA, Japan, Holland, France and Germany. Supported by our business ethical and permanence in the export market we archived a permanent space in the recognized Frankfurt-Messe in Germany, considered one of the most important International Fairs of the world.

In the recent years ARTIMSA has focused in the wholesale business of exporting handmade jewelry made from alpaca. We supply jewelry in plain metal or with incrusted abalone shell, stones and resin. By demand or design we may supply as well handmade jewelry made from sterling silver and other ordinary metals like copper, brass and alpaca. All of them are handcrafted by experimented Mexican craftsmen.

Today and after more than 66 years in the market we continue successfully offering a great variety of Mexican jewelry with the same spirit of service and commitment to our customers around the world. During all these years we proudly have benefited thousand of handcrafters and their families by offering and distributing their valuable work.
